This department is Gear Control Inspection, located in Fletch South behind a soundproof door.
(L to R)Les Stokes , Ted Rhead, and Joe Pitchford carry out the work of checking the standards of gears and cutters. Their work helps to maintain Triumph quality, and calls for accuracy to a very fine degree.
FINE MEASURING
They can measure up to half of a tenth of a thousandth of an inch!
The department has some interesting measuring machines. These can only be handled by experts—and to install them has cost several thousands.
