We regret to record the death of Mr John Gunn, of the Standard Motor Co. Ltd. Jimmy, as he was known to his many friends, served the company for 30 years. He joined the Lupus Street branch of the London Depot in 1925 and later went to Park Royal.
In 1936 he was transferred to the Coventry Service Depot. During the war years he devoted most of his spare time to organising the well known Coventry Sunshine Follies – a juvenile concert party that gave hundreds of shows and raised thousands of pounds for deserving causes.
Keenly interested in amateur boxing. Mr Gunn was for several years an active officer of the Standard Boxing Club. In his late years he was a keen continental traveller He leaves a widow (Gladys Gunn ED), who is employed by the company, a son and a daughter.
