Derek Makepeace has been in touch.
“I worked at the Radford plant from 1960 till 1979. Starting as a trainee in machine shop on the Non-Current spares section Working under Mr Joe Waite and Sid Wilday as my Foreman. On finishing traineeship at age of 21, I was transferred to the Tool & Cutter Grinding Department 1966-1979. The photo shows nearly all the Tool and Cutter Grinding staff. A great bunch of highly skilled men all prepared to show and train us youngsters. Some good characters from 1965 -1979. I still have an interest in Triumph matters as I own a 1972 TR6 and member of TR Register Coventry.”
