I joined Standard in 1966, at the Canley plant.
I started working in the Final Finish (23 shop, I think) with Phil Robinson (trade union convener, he went on to be the Lord Mayor of Coventry) and Mac Mackay, as an Automotive Electrician.

Great times and learnt a lot, not just about vehicle electrics but about people as well.
Other members of our electrical team:
Tom Street, John Ward, Eric Woods, Dave Trivet, Jack Hains, Denis Latchford, Peter Chapman. I stayed with the company (through the turbulent 60s and early 70s, through many ownership and name changes) until I took early retirement from JLR in 2015.
