Tommy Banks, of Tinsmiths Dept, Canley retired after 26 years of broken service.
There are many keen members of the Standard Triumph Angling Society in Tinsmiths, and they were determined to get a new recruit. So Tommy agreed to take up angling — and they bought him a complete outfit.
Tommy was well known for his work for the Benevolent Fund. He had served on the committee for 17 years. It was fitting, therefore, for Mr R. Haworth, Benevolent Fund secretary, to make the presentation.
